Jim Pedersen is the President of Nationwide Private Client, and he is responsible for spearheading the launch of the company. Jim has assembled a highly experienced executive team focused on delivering market leading products; underwriting expertise; a client-centric service culture; forward thinking technology; and strong sales and marketing partnerships with our agency representatives. A native Californian, Jim brings more than three decades of industry experience to Private Client.
His insurance career began in underwriting in 1981 with Allstate Insurance Company. Jim served in a variety of roles during his 22-year tenure and was an officer from 1996-2003. His leadership experiences included underwriting, distribution and technology responsibilities.
Jim returned to California in 2003 to work for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company as underwriting vice president of personal insurance. In 2004 he was promoted to senior vice president and chief operations officer of personal insurance. Four years later, he moved to the role of senior vice president of customer service and information technology.
Jim joined Home Value Insurance Company in 2011 as their executive vice president of distribution and operations. As part of a small leadership team, they guided a true start-up from business case through the acquisition in late 2012.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Business Administration from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA where he played collegiate basketball for the Gaels. He and his wife recently celebrated 34 years together and have two children, Megan and Mike. Megan is married and lives in Tucson, AZ and Mike followed his father's footsteps, working in the insurance industry out of San Diego, CA. Jim and his wife currently reside in Scottsdale, AZ with their two rescue dogs, Jax and Nicki. In his spare time, Jim enjoys golfing, exercising, traveling, supporting the animal rescue community and spending time with his family.
Molly (Bill) Rondeau is the VP of National Sales, Underwriting & Risk Solutions, responsible for national distribution, implementation and execution of sales underwriting strategies, agency communications and marketing activities for Private Client. She is accountable for agency performance management and appointment strategy, as well as the management and direction of the sales and marketing staff. Molly also oversees Private Client’s special projects and charitable enterprises.
A native of Indianapolis, IN, Molly has nearly 35 years of experience in personal, commercial and specialty lines of insurance. Throughout her career, she has a proven history of profitable growth, market management and successful business strategy. Before joining Private Client in April 2013, Molly served in various sales, leadership and executive roles in personal and commercial lines with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company for 16 years. Most recently, she was the personal insurance executive for the western zone, leading 26 states in sales and underwriting. Prior to that, she worked at CNA Insurance Company for 11 years and MJ United Insurance Agencies, an independent agency based out of Indiana.
Molly and her husband Bob reside in Seattle, WA and are heavily involved in their community. She is active with the Boys & Girls Club of King County, the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, a youth basketball coach and public speaker for Children with Special Needs.
Donald "Don" Soss is the Underwriting and Risk Solutions Executive. A Northern California resident, Don brings nearly 30 years of experience and underwriting expertise to Private Client. He is a national leader in underwriting for personal collections, including fine art, jewelry and other valuable possessions.
His career began in human resources with Allstate Insurance Company before he transitioned into underwriting at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies. In June 1994, Don joined Fireman's Fund Insurance Company where he served in various underwriting and executive roles. Most recently, Don was their vice president of private wealth and chief underwriting officer.
Don graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication. He holds his Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) from the Insurance Institute of America. In addition, Don has completed 1, 5 and 7 courses of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. Don served as an executive board member for the Institute for Business and Home Safety (IBHS) from 2008-2012 and was a member of the California Earthquake Authority (CEA) advisory panel from 2002-2006. Don and his wife live in Sacramento, CA where they enjoy the outdoors and spending time with their children and three cats.
Henry Hoffer is the Claims Executive, responsible for the achievement and oversight of a best in class claims experience and the direction and management of our claims staff. Henry is accountable for the strategy, execution and ongoing improvement of our claims and Risk Solutions departments. Additionally, he represents Private Client in the local community, on industry committees and sponsors oversight of special projects.
Henry has more than three decades of insurance and claims experience. He joined the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in 1985, where he served in a variety of claims-related leadership roles over his 22-year tenure. While at Chubb, he was responsible for multi-line claims marketing and building and overseeing their call center. In 2007, the Balboa Insurance Group hired Henry as their senior vice president of central claims operations.
He joined the Nationwide Insurance family in 2010 as associate vice president of the Commercial Property, Farm and Agribusiness Technical Claims office. In that role, he was tasked with establishing best practices, creating formal guidelines and performance metrics, improving the claims organizational structure and training programs.
Henry earned his Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral and Social Sciences from the University of Maryland and earned the Society of Claims Law Associate designation. He and his wife Rosalie recently celebrated 32 years together and have two children, Samantha and Jonathan. Samantha followed in her father’s footsteps, working for Titan Insurance in Scottsdale, AZ, and Jonathan is currently a junior in the Economics department at New York University. Henry and Rosalie reside in Scottsdale with their dog Rusty, where they enjoy hiking, biking, traveling and reading.
Angela Wolterstorff is the Customer Experience Executive, responsible for leading the customer service team (including agent and client service for billing, transaction processing, claims first notice of loss, CBI platform support) - and the operations team (program management, CBI platform design, development and production support). Angela also oversees the internal associate experience, including human resources (in partnership with the human resources team), and systems training support.
Before joining Nationwide, Angela held leadership roles at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company for nearly ten years, including roles as Vice President of customer service operations, Assistant Vice President of customer service transformation, and Human Resources Director for personal lines. Her career began with Bristol-Myers Squibb as a sales staffing and leadership development specialist, then as a human resources consultant for Arthur Andersen (2000-2002) and Deloitte (2002-2004), where she advised clients in various industries - including insurance and financial services, biotechnology, entertainment, publishing and pharmaceuticals.
Angela earned her Bachelor of Arts from Murray State University and a Masters in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She and her husband, Ryan, live in Denver, CO with their children Ellery and Ryker, and two dogs. Angela is an avid volleyball player, music lover and outdoor enthusiast.
